September 2023: The Birth of an Idea

Congratulations to Scott Crane, who was chosen at random as the winner of our 1984 Ford Bronco give-a-way! Thank you to everyone who donated and participated in our Score My ’84 event!

August 2023: The Finale is Here!

Our team worked hard to bring this old 1984 Ford Bronco back to life! We’re so proud of the progress made and the support that this will lend to our community! Who will Score the ’84 and drive home in style! We can’t wait to give this work of art way next month!

July 2023: We have Power!

All electric and engine components have been installed and our gorgeous ’84 Bronco is looking amazing!

June 2023: Fresh Paint for a Timeless Classic

Whew, this thing is looking good! No, great! We kept it classic, with a blue and white finish that will get noticed for sure!

May 2023: Making Progress

We have been making a lot of progress on the 1984 Bronco, with body work nearly finished – things are really starting to come alive!

March 2023: Keeping the Spirit of the 70’s and 80’s Alive

As we proceeded, we kept the spirit of the 70’s and 80’s alive and insisted that replacement parts be as original as possible. Where applicable or available, we used chrome parts only. We also wanted our community of vendors and parts suppliers to be a part of the project.

January 2023: The Restoration Begins

In January, Performance acquired a 1984 Bronco and towed it into our dealership in Woods Cross. Here we began the tear down or, if you prefer, the tear apart as every part needed to come off in order to determine what we got ourselves into and the extent of repairs and parts replacements we were going to be up against.

November 2022: The Birth of an Idea

The idea of restoring an older Bronco came to us in November 2022 as we were brainstorming ideas to raise funds for two of our charitable institutions that we support annually.

Partnering with Vendors and Parts Suppliers

We sought out partners who would contribute to the project and help us complete the restoration. Companies to thank for contributing are Jack-It The Suspension Experts, Napa Auto Parts, Mickey Thompson Tire, D.C Customs, Fox Restoration, Burt Bros, D & S Paint Restoration, and PPG Paint.

Community Support and Passion

The passion we have all felt about the “Restore My 84” project has been both fun and inspiring. The community has shown tremendous support and generosity, and members of our “84 Restore Bronco Team” have put in countless hours of work and time.

Supporting Charitable Institutions

The fundraiser benefiting The Red Barn Academy and the Davis Education Foundation is the reason behind the restore. Performance Bountiful has been a supporter and donor of The Red Barn Academy, and The Davis Education Foundation for several years.

The Red Barn Academy
The Red Barn Academy is a licensed, two year minimum residential life-skills academy that reinvents lives broken from addiction and crime by teaching Honesty, accountability and integrity in a farm setting. The students of this program come from all walks of life and all ages and the transformation that we see in candidates attending are remarkable and in many cases, true miracles.

Davis Education Foundation
The Davis Education Foundation has identified more than 1300 students in the Davis School District who are classified as homeless. These children lack access to basic resources and amenities. The Foundation is removing barriers to learning for them and other students in crisis by constructing teen resource centers in high schools around the district. These teen-Centers provide students with a safe place to shower, do laundry, study, receive one-on-one assistance from family services workers and access to critical assistance without jeopardizing dignity and self-worth.

Contest

As part of the fundraiser, Performance will pull one lucky winner’s name out of the thousands of tickets we acquire over the next few months while the Bronco is on what we are calling “Win My 84, 2023 Bronco Tour.” The Bronco will be on display at several events where anyone can come and fill out a drawing ticket for free and enter to win.(See all Rules and Regulations)

Fundraising Merchandise

As part of the fundraiser, Performance will be selling vintage, one-of-a-kind “Bronco-Tour” T-shirts and hats. No purchase is necessary, and anyone can enter the drawing without purchasing shirts or hats. The Bronco Tour begins March 16th at the ISE and continues making appearances at a variety of car shows, golf tournaments, and expos until September 2023.
